This event started in 2001 and was made available by the joint efforts of the two Masters Clubs in Cardiff. This collaboration was a huge success, for both Masters swimmers and for the two clubs to work closely together, and has continued to grow year on year.

Since 2006 Cardiff Masters have hosted this gala by themselves and look forward to this year's event and to its continued popularity.

It has now been confirmed that there will be a new venue for this event from 2008 onwards. This will be the new, state of the art, swimming complex at the Cardiff International Sports Village. This will now be a Long Course event with an extended program of events. By moving to this prestigious new venue, it is hoped that the event will attract many more entrants and will therefore secure its place in future years.
